Indiana’s Will Dantzler Selected as SynED’s August National CyberHero for Creating Solutions to the Nation’s Cybersecurity Workforce Shortages

Mr. Dantzler recently spearheaded the creation and rollout of CyberKnights, an online platform for understanding organizational cybersecurity needs and assessing, developing, and retaining cybersecurity talent. In selecting him as CyberHero, SynED considered his innovative and systematic approach to solving the nation’s cybersecurity workforce shortage, which comes as threats from ransomware and other cybersecurity attacks continue to rise.

CyberKnights Partners with CompTIA in Support of Cybersecurity Talent Assessment, Development, and Retention

It promotes and facilitates cybersecurity talent assessment, development, and retention. CyberKnights and CompTIA have partnered to increase knowledge, skills, and awareness in the technology workforce. In a sustainable effort to grow the U.S. cybersecurity workforce, the CyberKnights portal leverages the National Institute of Standards and Technology, National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) framework in key ways. Rofori Launches CyberKnights Talent Assessment, Development, and Retention Portal

Zionsville, Indiana – Rofori Corporation is announcing the launch of its CyberKnights Talent Assessment, Development, and Retention Portal. There are over 500,000 cybersecurity job openings in the U.S., but not enough talent has been identified to meet employer needs. According to the MIT Technology Review, fewer than one in four of the candidates that apply for these positions are qualified. Employers can leverage CyberKnights to automatically match up with talent meeting their needs or view the talent pool to see available cybersecurity talent.  Employers can increase retention by incorporating CyberKnights to the fullest extent within their organization to help manage employees. WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta on Tuesday (July 2) announced a $12 million award to Purdue University’s Polytechnic Institute to develop a program to help fill a growing need for cybersecurity professionals. Acosta visited Purdue’s campus to make the announcement. He toured Maurice G. Knoy Hall of Technology and met with Polytechnic administrators and students as well as state officials and business partners.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta discussed the award of $12 million in information technology apprenticeship grant funding to Purdue University during a visit to Purdue Polytechnic Institute, in West Lafayette, Indiana. Secretary Acosta toured the Purdue University Cyber Forensics Lab and participated in a roundtable with the Dean of Purdue Polytechnic Institute Gary Bertoline, Purdue Polytechnic Institute faculty and students, Indiana government officials, and representatives of Raytheon, FastPort, Rofori, NSCW Crane, TriStar, and Artesian Electronics.
